Why does this question keep repeating itself - Is the Internet Dead?

Everytime the question is asked I cringe. Is the Internet dead, they ask. Who are these people who ask that? A motley group or members of the We-Hate-The-Net group? I don't know. But every now and then, I get one story in a press release in my In-Box with the by-now familiar question - Is the Internet Dead? Agghhhh. I tear at my hair and scream out aloud in my room, "NOOOO". Luckily the door is closed and wifey does not hear. Poor thing would think I am losing it. But why oh why do people keep asking it? No, for the very last time, NO, the Internet is NOT dead. Nor is it dying. It is healthy, very much pink and with a glow on its cheeks. For some strange reason, a section of society wants the Net dead; members of this group are lurking around the corner, waiting to write the euology. But to all such skeptics, I just want to say, the Internet cannot die, will not die. The Medium and Media is such. It is the future; it may be in its nascent stage now but grow it will. Die? I don't think so. In the future it may take on a new avataar, that's all. And that's not death, it is only a re-birth. So guys, take a chill pill and go back to your 'Real World' tombs.
